Rats hockey game
The Bolton Rec Department is taking a field trip to the Glens Falls Civic Center to watch an Albany River Rats game on Saturday, Dec. 15. The bus departs from the town hall at 4 p.m. for game at 5 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults$8 for children 12 and under.Sign upat the town hall main office by Nov. 30. This trip is open to the public.An adult must accompany any children in grade 3 and lower. Thrift shop
The thrift shop in the Episcopal Church Parish House, Henriette's Attic, will be open on the Friday and Saturday alter Thanksgiving for those who want to do some shopping before the current season ends on December 1. Skating at the Fun Spot
The town recreation has arranged for Bolton youth in grades three through six to once again enjoy skating or blading at the Fun Spot. Younger students may participate with a parent/guardian. The specific dates are Fridays on Nov. 16 and 30; Dec. 7; Jan. 14 and 18, Feb. 1 and 15, March 7 and 21. Mark your calendars for future reference. Skating time is 4 to 6 p.m. The bus leaves BCS at 3:30 p.m.and returns to BCS at approximately 6:30 p.m. Supervision will be provided at the school between the time school is dismissed and the bus leaves. Admission to the Fun Spot is $3.50 and skates can be rented for an additional $2. To participate, each child must sign up in the main office by the Wednesday before each Fridays trip. This year the Gore Mountain Ski program will beheld for six consecutive Sundays starting Jan. 6. The sign-up deadline is Nov. 23. The ski pass photo night and info session will be Nov. 20 at 6 p.m in the BCS cafeteria. Information and application packets are available at the town hall or the BCS main office. Bolton Art Show
On Saturday, Dec. 1, there will be a Bolton Art Show from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the town hall. Paintings and photography of local artists will be on display. There will be watercolors, oils, acrylics and photographs for sale. Give the gift of art this Holiday Season. There are ten artists already committed to the show and others are invited to join. Some familiar names already signed up are Nancy Crook Rhodes, Joyce Cleveland, Mark Perry, Rochelle McCartney and Joann Kohrs Smith. Other artists are invited to join. The Bolton Library has been recognized by New York Library Associations Library Photo of the Month and a picture of the exterior of the building, including the beautiful Marys Garden in front of the building, is featured on the Association website. Pat Merchant of Lake Shore Drive was the photographer. Did you know...the Bolton Free Library now has a blog? The address is boltonfreelibrary.blogspot.com.
