After running the Champlain valley Athletic Conference cross country championship race in a downpour, the Ticonderoga boys cross country team was tired, cold and wet Oct. 27. They felt worse. The Sentinels lost to Plattsburgh, 27-28, in a run-off that determined the league champion. The two teams had split in the regular season, each posting 17-1 records. Tis Lee Berube won the race, covering the muddy 3.1 miles in 17 minutes, 8 seconds. Mike Lonergan was 10th for Ti, followed by Jared Best 16th, Brendan Carberry 17th, Josh Cook 25th, Jay Berube 27th, Eain Tierney 28th, Pat Lonergan 49th and Alex Walters 50th. Lee Berube, Carberry and Lonergan were named CVAC all stars following the meet. Best and Jay Berube received honorable mention. Ticonderoga finished eighth in the girls meet, which wa won by Saranac Lake. Katie Karkoski finished 13th to lead Ticonderoga. Amber Perkins was 37th. Karkoski was named honorable mention CVAC all star.
