Salvation Army seeking volunteers

TICONDEROGA The Salvation Army is seeking volunteer Bell Ringers from Thanksgiving through Christmas to stand next to the kettles for their Red Kettle Campaign in Ticonderoga. The Red Kettles have become tradition throughout the United States, raising money to assist those less fortunate. Glen Buell of Crown Point is the site organizer for the Ticonderoga Service Unit. Hes looking for volunteers to stand by the kettles on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during the holiday season. I would like to schedule Bell Ringers in 1-2 hour time slots from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day and with enough volunteers possibly until 8 p.m. each evening, Buell said. Companies, organizations, schools and individuals can sign up as volunteers. Have you ever asked yourself, what can I do to help someone this holiday season?, he asked. Have you been searching for something to get you into the Christmas spirit? Have you ever wanted to be one of those bell ringers in front of a Salvation Army Kettle? If you answered yes to any or all of those questions, wont you please give me a call at 597-3222 and volunteer this year, Buell said. You can call the same number if you need assistance from The Salvation Army, if you have clothes that you would like to donate, or if you can help as a volunteer all year long.
