More than one way to help United Way

To the editor: Its campaign time for the United Way of Clinton and Essex Counties and this years goal is $700,000. This is the sixth year that I have chaired the Public Service Division of the campaign and I am asking everyone who reads this letter to consider making a financial pledge to our United Way. Payroll deduction through your employer is the simplest way to give $5 or $10 per pay period will likely not be missed from your pay check. This pledge will help fund any of the 33 United Way Community Partner Agencies all of which work hard to make life better for us all. You can even designate your financial pledge to specific Community Partner Agencies. For those of you who fall within the Public Service Division town, city and county governments, nursing homes, hospitals, all other not-for-profit corporations and United Way Community Partner Agencies themselves I thank you in advance for your charitable spirit if your United Way campaign is already underway. If your campaign isnt already underway, please consider launching one. Under the leadership of John Bernardi and Bob Donlan, this years campaign team has lots of energy and enthusiasm. Our team is ready at the helm to present to your employees 10 to 30 minutes of your time during a staff meeting, lunch time, or any at any other time of day about the benefits of launching a campaign at your place of work. This years eight-minute video is moving and informative. Pledge forms are easy to use. Every thing about United Way is good. Please give to the campaign. Jamie L. Basiliere, Executive Director
