Indian Lake/Long Lake upsets Johnsburg, falls to E-town

ELIZABETHTOWN Alex Smith recorded 17 saves but it wasnt enough Tuesday as Indian Lake/Long Lake dropped a hard-fought game to Elizabethtown in a Class D Section VII Boys Soccer semifinal match. The loss ends the season for Indian Lake/Long Lake, which finishes with an 11-5-1 record. Elizabethtown will play Chazy for the Section VII Class D boys soccer crown on Saturday. Indian Lake/Long Lake reached the semifinal game by upsetting second-seeded Johnsburg 3-1 in a quarterfinal game played Friday in North Creek. In that match, Jordan Monthony scored twice and Jeff Reynolds added a goal for seventh-seeded IL/LL. Alex Smith recorded a dozen saves in the winning effort. For the Jags, Tobias Knosel scored the lone goal. Johnsburg finished the season with a 12-5 record and the Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference Southern Division regular season title.
