With some blank spots on the Thurman ballot, voters can write in a desired name if they choose. Ask at your polling place for instructions on how to do this. Linda Griswold has withdrawn from the town board race for health reasons. Polls are open from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 6. The November meeting has been changed to Nov. 14. Bring a covered dish to go with the turkey meal that starts at 6 p.m. Election of officers for the new year will follow. Members who wish to attend the Christmas party on Dec. 2 at 1,000 Acres Ranch should sign up. Remember to turn clocks back one hour on Saturday night! Donations are being taken for Billy Arnold II who was injured in a chainsaw accident. He was in the hospital for nearly two weeks and will be out of work for some time. Thurman Town Clerk Nancy Beadnell will be accepting any donations at her office to help the family out. The Gleaning food distribution will be on Tuesday, Nov. 6 at 11 a.m. at the town hall. The Thurman Volunteer Fire Company meets on Tuesday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. at the firehouse. Meetings are open to the public. Residents over 60 are are invited to take a free bus service to Glens Falls on Friday, Nov. 9. Call Laura by Wednesday at 623-9281. The Southern Adirondack Four Wheeler Club meets on Friday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. at the town hall. Attention senior citizens in Hague and Bolton - the Office for the Aging will be in your area on Monday, Nov. 5 with the HEAP outreach program. Contact your town hall for information. The program will be in Thurman on Nov. 28. Nov. 8 is the last day to get your full shoebox for Operation Christmas Child in to the town hall for children overseas who have so little.
