Ready to Go Doggy Show a success

HAGUE Over 40 dogs showed up for the Ready to go Doggy Show on May 26 at the Hague beach. Twenty-nine dogs competed to win titles in the best costume, best in show, best trick and agility categories. Socialization for dogs is an excellent thing, said Lin Benway, show organizer, explaining why events like these are important. Accompanying the dogs were over 150 spectators who enjoyed the days events. Dan Rossignol, a professional dog trainer, kicked-off the show talking about dog training methods and answered questions from the audience. The people really enjoyed him, Benway said. The event raised over $900 for Adirondack-Save-a-Stray in event registration fees alone. Overall, Benway was most impressed with the childrens participation. I was very pleased that they young kids in the family entered their family pets. The kids that handled their dogs did a wonderful job and put a lot into it, Benway said.
