Cheers to FES

To the editor: Cheers to the Northern Adirondack Foundation for Excellence in Schools (FES) Club for their excitement and willingness to participate in the 2007 American Cancer Society Relay for Life Event to take place on June 15. The FES club consists of students in grades 7-12 who meet on a regular basis after-school hours in order to work on planning and participating in community-based events like the Relay for Life. Not only do these students come willingly after the school day is over, but they have been devoting their time and energy to raising money in order to donate to the American Cancer Society. Eastern Adirondack Health Care Network staff has been working diligently with the FES Club students and their Team Captain, NACS Guidance Counselor Tim McAfee, to guide them as they prepare for this important event. Due to the fact that the students have been so eager and motivated to take the reins, our part has not been very difficult and TWO teams have been formed! We are very proud of these students and their willingness to work hard for such a great cause! Way to go NAC FES Club! Amanda Clark Plattsburgh
