UHRR gears up for new season with special Mother's Day train

NORTH CREEK The Upper Hudson River Railroad will kick off its 2007 season on May 13 with a special Mothers Day Train. Departing at 2 p.m. from the historic North Creek Depot, this two hour train ride will follow the beautiful Hudson River to Riparius, where it will make a brief stop before returning. In honor of the day all Moms ride free! This year A Day Out With Thomas returns to town on May 18-20 and May 25-28. In addition to a ride with Thomas, visitors will be able to meet Sir Topham Hatt and participate in a variety of activities on site. Live music and storytelling will take place throughout the event. With miles of scenic river and trails available, the Upper Hudson River Railroad welcomes kayakers and mountain bikers aboard the train. Bring your bike or kayak along and enjoy all the Adirondacks have to offer. Children of all ages will enjoy the Payroll Robbery train, scheduled for 2 p.m. on Fridays, July 6 through August 31. Penelope the Clown will be on board to entertain on Mondays, and have fun at the Mic with Mike on Thursdays. For a unique and memorable Adirondack experience, visitors can take the 40 Miler to Hadley, Saturdays from June 30 to September 1. This 40-mile ride winds along the Hudson, through pristine Adirondack wilderness and over a 96 trestle. Enjoy a meal, golf or horseback riding at 1000 Acres Ranch, then return on the train.
