TICONDEROGA The judges have spoken and 39 aspiring Ti Idol contestants will compete in the next round May 19. Patterned after the television program, American Idol, the 2007 Ticonderoga talent show began with 60 entrants. The next round of the competition will be at 6 p.m. May 19 at Ticonderoga High Schools auditorium. Tickets will be available at the door for $6 for adults and $4 for senior citizens and students. Advancing in the junior division are Alyssa Rodriquez, Adam Agee, Rebbecca Porter, Jesse Agee, Ashley Anderson, Kaitlin Diskin, Gracie Agee, Aubrey Backus, Ethan Bain and Paige Bailey. Moving on in the teen category are Samantha Young, Abbey Agee, Vanessa Fuller, Melissa Fabiano, Hayley Savage, Malanda Parie, Conner Backus, Autumn Winney, Cassondra Little, Lindsey Gordon and Michael McClure. The next round of the adult competition will feature Thea Armstrong, Jennifer Connors, Tammy Snyder, Tonya Bailey, John Brooks, Cherilyn McCoy, Alissa Glading, Carolyn Fuller, Ruth Betit, Tara Diskin, Chris Hartley, Linda Agee, Cheech Rodriquez, Lori Renninger, Brandy Lacey, Holly Savage, Linda Sarcharski and Jared Dixon. The semifinal round will be held June 16 at the Ticonderoga High School auditorium at 6 p.m. It will feature the WOKO morning round-up crew of C.K. Coin and Wild Bill Sargent. The finals will be held July 3 at 7:30 p.m. in Bicentennial Park as part of the communitys annual Best Fourth in the North celebration. The outdoor show will be free. TheTi Idol shows are a fund raiser for the Town of Ticonderoga Fourth of July Committee and all proceeds of this event are used to finance the three day celebration of the Fourth of July. All contestants must reside fulltime within a 45-mile radius of Ticonderoga and must be amateurs. No bands or electrical instruments will be permitted. In 2006 10-year old Alyssa Rodriguez of Hague successfully defended her junior division title. Taking second place in the junior division was Kaitlin Diskin of Ticonderoga and Crown Points Adam Agee, was third. In the teen category, Jared Dixon, a recent graduate of Ticonderoga High School, won. Second place went to Kathryn Major and Samantha Young was third. Melanie Bain won the adult division. Linda Agee of Crown Point was second. Placing third in the adult division was John Brooks of Port Henry.
