Around the county

Every week I get the Price Chopper sales bulletins on my email. Because I was here and not there most all of the winter I ignored these on-line fliers. However, as our return is imminent I opened it up this week and was pleasantly surprised to see that food prices in our North Country are much better than those here in the south. I have maintained all winter that shopping here is a much more expensive proposition and this weeks flier proved me right.

I have heard nothing but good things about the local production of South Pacific held at PSUC recently. There was local talent as well as Broadway performers George and Leslie Hearn.

One of the things I enjoy most being here all winter is the ability to get out and walk every day. A sweatshirt and on a rare day a pair of sweatpants is the heaviest clothing that is necessary. I am glad that the weather will be nice enough up home to get out and walk now. I also line dance here three times a week and will miss that terribly. If anyone knows of a line dance group in our area, please let me know! Please, those of you that know me do not be chuckling at the mental picture that must conjure up! I also said goodbye to my church choir group on Sunday. On most mornings we are 35-50 people strong and have a director/organist who is a true professional. While I miss this group in the summer, I thoroughly enjoy the small church choir I sing in during the summer also-a cultural change, for sure!

Keep the weather warming up, enjoy the sunshine when it appears and remember that each day is Gods gift to you. Make it blossom and grow into a thing of beauty!
