Burlington Farmer's Market makes more room for customers

The Burlington Farmers' Market is rearranging its vendors to make more room for shoppers. The Saturday Farmers' Market in downtown Burlington has always been a very popular market, and now some of the vendors will be moving deeper into City Hall Park to ease the crowding on the College Street sidewalk. Since 1982, the Burlington Farmers' Market has placed vendors on both sides of the College Street sidewalk along side City Hall Park. Now the vendors who were on the park side of the sidewalk will move further into the park, setting up along the diagonal paths that lead to the center fountain. "It's great," said Hank Bissell, president of the market, "The City has given us some elbow room, and we're using it to make more room for our customers." The Burlington Farmers' Market opens Saturday, May 12, and operates every Saturday -rain or shine- from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. through the end of October.
