Vote, public hearing on Johnsburg Central School budget

Notice is hereby given that the Annual Vote of the inhabitants of the Central School District, Towns of Johnsburg, Chester and Thurman, Warren County, qualified to vote at school meetings in said district for the 2007-2008 District Budget, one (1) vacancy on the Board of Education, a proposition for the purchase of two buses in an amount not to exceed $180,425 and a proposition for a building renovation project in an amount not to exceed $400,000 will be held at the school house in said District, on Tuesday, May 15, 2007, from 12 noon to 8 p.m. And notice is also given that the public hearing on the budget will be Monday, May 7, 2007, at 8 p.m. at the school house in said District. A copy of the statement of the amount of money which will be required for the ensuing year for school purposes exclusive of public moneys, may be obtained by any taxpayer in the district during the seven days immediately preceding the Annual Vote, except Saturday, Sunday or holiday, at the school house in which school is maintained during the hours designated: Johnsburg Central School, North Creek, 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Voting will be held to fill one (1) term of office on the Board of Education, commencing on July 1, 2007. Petitions for the Board position may be obtained from the Clerk of the District and must be signed by at least 25 qualified voters of the district, stating their residence, and must state the name and residence of the candidate. Notice is also given that petitions nominating candidates for the office of Members of the Board of Education must be filed with the Clerk of the District not later than April 16, 2007. Applications for absentee ballots may be applied for from the District Clerk. A list of all persons to whom absentee ballots shall have been issued will be available in the office of the Clerk on each of the five school days prior to the day of the election and shall be posted at the polling place at the election.
