Peru Lip Sync contest fills the house!

PERU Peru Central Schools annual Lip Sync Contest was held Friday, March 23 before its usual packed house of cheering teens. Students performing to the Blues Brothers hits Everybody Needs Somebody to Love and Soul Man won both high school and middle school competitions.

Lip Sync Coordinator Diane Menard said it was a great contest with between 150 to 200 students participating as either performers or back-stage crew members. She said a special First Place Medal was presented to Mark LaFountain who has participated in the lip sync for the past 20 years. LaFountain started as a seventh grade performer and joined the stage crew when he graduated. He has never missed a performance.

Peru volunteer firefighters provided security for the evening.
