Wells will read from his recent book, Sailing to Byzantium: How a Lost Empire Shaped the World, on Tuesday, March 27. His first reading will be held at the College Stores Book Nook at 3:30 p.m., with a second reading at 7 p.m. in the Feinberg Library. Both events are free, open to the public and light refreshments will be served. The Feinberg Library/College Store Readers Series is designed to celebrate area authors and to encourage the use of the library and reading in general. Candidate sought to serve on board of ed WESTPORTThe Westport Central School District is seeking a candidate to fill one 5-year term vacancy on the board of education. The seat is now held by George Maffey. Petitions are available in the district office between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, until April 16. Petitions must be returned to the district office non later than 4 p.m. on April 16.
