Elizabethtown-Lewis students in grades K-6 recognized

ELIZABETHTOWN Elizabethtown-Lewis Central School students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade recently celebrated the second of three Positive Behavior in Schools (PBIS) Student Recognition Award week. Students were recognized in an assembly on Feb. 26. Award recipients were: Kindergarten: Peak performers: Lily Frawley and Tyler Monty; student achievers: Alexa Doherty, Meagan Goff, Ryan Jacques, Keegan Sewell and Ellie Vanderhoof. Mrs. Jones First Grade: Peak performers: Melissa Jacques; student achievers: Britney Mitchell, Annie Mullin, Jake Rider and Emmalee Turner. Ms. Kirks First Grade: Peak performer: Faith Bona; student achievers: Julien Davey, Michael Deedam, Jeremiah Johnson, Kaitlyn Lindsay and Ashley Soper. Mrs. Haseltines Second Grade: Peak performer: Myra Adams; student achievers: Tess Andrade, Anthony Celotti, Montana Colegrove, Brent Crowningshield, Paul Hagey, Kayla Kelsel, Samuel Huttig and Sierra Jacques. Mrs. Rocks Second Grade: Peak performer: Emma DeMuro; student achievers: Thomas Celotti, Jamison Decker, Daejean Estus, Briana Goff, Samantha Griffin, Kristopher Mazzacone, Joel Morris, Paige Mullin, Coby Schaefer and Madison Sussey. Mrs. Cotronas Third Grade: Peak Performer: Jazmin Wright; Student Achievers: Cora Adams, Nicole Green, Koby Rider and Lenore Sicola. Mrs. Hutchins Third Grade: Peak performer: C.J. Shephard; Student Achievers: Trevor Brooks, Abbigale Cassavaugh, Elsa Koop-Angelicola, Logan Phinney and Wesley Putnam. Mrs. Norton: Peak performer: Jacob Egglefield; student achiever: Rheanon Martin. Mrs. McCabes Fourth Grade: Peak performer: Tamara Wescott; student achievers: Sebastian Davey, Dominic DeMuro, Noah Farrell, Alyssa Fields, Chas Morgan, R.J. Plante, Isaiah Turner, Tiffany Welch and Wesley Whalen. Mrs. Trybendis Fourth Grade: Peak performers: Kyra Schaefer and Boyce Rawson; student achievers: Sage Allott, Kayle Hagey, Parker LeClair, William Tomkins and Thea Wescott. Ms. Bakers Fifth Grade: Peak performer: Katie Whittemore; student achievers: Connor Apthorp, Robert Beaton, Shonna Brooks, Abby Burdo, Julia Cox, Nik Davey, Caite Decker, Geeg Dedam, Justin LaPier, Sami Roy and Dylan Sussey. Mrs. Hoopers Fifth Grade: Peak performer: Megan Rushby; Student achievers: Bridgett Blood, Alexis Brown, Hugh Harwood, Douglas LeVien, Jerry Mitchell, Austin Morris, Zoe Reusser, Lily Whalen and Corinne White. Seven of the peak performers won the award for a second time: Lily Frawley, Tyler Monty, Faith Bona, Myra Adams, Jazmin Wright, Kyra Schaefer and Megan Rushby. All new peak performers received a framed certificate, a ribbon, an ELCS headband and a four-ink pen. The seven repeat peak performer were given a $5 Borders bookstore gift certificate instead of a headband. The student achievers received a certificate and a paw print mechanical pencil. All classroom teachers were given Paw Pride pencils to hand out to all students for following the rules. The week ended with time available that allowed the children to participate in an activity of their choice. They could get ice cream, make note cards, work on basketball skills, make picture frame, play board games, enjoy tangrams puzzles, explore science or playground planning. The last PBIS recognition ceremony will by Monday, May 14 at 9 a.m. All interested are invited to attend.
