Westport seniors overcome adversity to reach goal

WESTPORT The Westport Class of 2007 faced several challenges on the way to graduation and it didnt stop there.

A glitch in the computer system damaged the class slide presentation, which was produced by seniors Greta Jerdo and Louise McGoldrick, but students accepted the problem and moved on.

Salutatorian Greta Jerdo delivered a welcoming speech, reminiscing about her first days at WCS, and her memories of the class.

Guest speaker Scott Gibbs shared some of his memories of the class, citing their unique nature and ability to care.

Valedictorian Daniel Linder acknowledged the uniqueness of his class, pointing out that students had always gone their own way. He said the class was comprised of highly motivated individuals, each with their own life agenda.

While the consensus of the class is impatient excitement for a chance to be out in the world, we all must be feeling a tinge of nostalgia... Ill miss that truly unique student body and the cozy, tight-knit community that almost magically exists at Westport Central School, said Linder.
