A goldfish? No thank you

My child was a bit upset, but I had told her not to expect Swimmy to last long and shes old enough to understand the life expectancy of a summer fair goldfish.

Im okay. I knew Swimmys days were numbered.

But my question is what about all those younger kids that got a cute little fishie only to have it die?

I know it was all fun and games, and nobody set out to cause any ill feelings but think about it cant we just give out regular prizes instead?

Kids will get a lot more fun time from such things as a yo-yo, a paddleball, or even a stuffed animal.

Please, no more goldfish.
