CHESTERTOWN The Friends of the Chester Library held its annual sale recently, and lots of people showed up.
We had a marvelous turnout of book lovers, said Mary Lou Smith of the Friends. We had a crush of buyers at our opening Friday morning followed by a steady stream of book lovers over the two days and we had our best sale results ever. We have the community to thank for this.
Smith said the quality of books donated to the book sale were of the highest level, and the total receipts support and enrich the library.
Young Eiry Downey has been coming to the library sales since she was a toddler. Smith said her mom shops the sales and others so she can sell materials on line in order to stay home to care for Eiry.
