Mooers Camp Meeting: over 100 years of camping, friendship, and spiritual fun

MOOERS Members of the Mooers Camp Meeting Association are gearing up for this years meeting with a wonderful line-up of missionary guests, music and activities from Aug. 1-12.

Its a great place to take the whole family, no matter what their religious denomination might be. Its also a place where folks can make lifelong friends.

Its awesome, said Jerika Manning, of the Mooers Youth Group, TNT, Ive met people here from all over the world.

Ive made friends from Arizona, Texas and Philadelphia, so I look forward to coming back this year to see them again.

Ive met people when I was a kid that I am still friends with today, said Ruth Colgan, Ive been coming here since I was a little girl.

Colgan, of Mooers, now a grandmother, enjoys spending time there with her family.

For young children theres plenty to busy themselves with; a vacation Bible school with a fun and exciting day program that runs from 10 a.m. - noon, then again from 1-2 p.m for children K-5th grade. There shouldnt be any complaints of boredom because theres plenty of room for bike riding and exploring and a playground too.

For those a little older, there will be an overnight and daily youth programs with Evangelist Reverend Karl Ingersoll, of Fredericton, New Brunswick and Youth Director, Joel Wydysh, a former youth pastor at Moncton Wesleyan Church.

Theres like 65 or more kids in two dorms, exclaimed Manning. Shes told fellow TNT members all about the Mooer Camp Meeting, and they too are anticipating the commencement.

Im excited to be meeting new people, said Tiah Breuer.

Her brother, Raith, shared the same sentiments, it just sounds like so much fun.

Rev. Ingersoll, in his several years of experience has grown a solid relationship with many of the youth by teaching Gods love in a way thats relevant to them.
