Moses-Ludington Hospital has a new nurse anesthetist

TICONDEROGA The new nurse anesthetist at Moses-Ludington Hospital of Inter-Lakes Health will do more than work in the operating room.

David Cann, who works primarily in the outpatient surgery department, is also developing an IV therapy course and a course on IV conscious sedation for ILHs physicians assistants, nurse practitioners and registered nurses.

He has only been here a few weeks and he has already made quite an impression, said Nancy LaTour, manager of surgical services. Hes a great guy. Were very lucky to have him.

Patricia Chamberlain, RN, the hospitals nursing director, agrees.

We are so fortunate to have him here, she said. He is involved in surgery and also has an active interest in teaching and in patient care.

Cann lives in Queensbury with his wife and young son. He worked at Albany Medical Center before joining Inter-Lakes Health. He is working on his doctorate of nursing practice clinical anesthesiology at Columbia University in New York.

He brings a lot of knowledge with him, LaTour said. And hes eager to share it with us. He is already making a positive difference for our staff and our patients.

Moses-Ludington Hospital offers a wide range of outpatient surgery, including: colonoscopy, cataract removal, oral surgery for adults and children, orthopedic surgery, and tonsillectomy. For information contact LaTour at 585-3986.
