GLENS FALLS Its been a busy off-season for the Adirondack Theatre Festival, culminating in an announcement at ATFs 13th Annual Winter Benefit that ATF founders David Turner and Martha Banta will leave their current roles following the season this summer. David and Martha were responsible for the 13- year evolution culminating in more than 60 productions, working with more than 500 artists, staff and interns, leading the creation of a new $3 million theater and providing high-quality professional theatre for thousands of theatergoers. Longtime ATF supporters, Elise and Woody Widlund of North River have agreed to lead a Transition Advisory Committee (TAC) of community members to be a sounding board for ATF on issues raised by this transition. We have been extremely impressed with the progress made on challenging issues by the ATF Board of Directors in the months since we met with them in September, said Elise Widlund. We look forward to working with a committee of community members to explore issues and concerns that face the ATF organization in the coming months. The committee will include Susan Fox, Mark Frost, Alice Grether, Sharon Henderson, Nancy Jefts, Tom Lloyd, Karen May, Ron Montesi, Betty Osborne, Patricia Phillips and Beth Saunders. Input from this group will bring feedback and ideas for ATFs consideration. It is the open exchange of ideas, the giving of time and thought that makes the difference, Elise Widlund added. Input from the community is welcome via email at thefuture@ATFestival.org . The Board of Directors is committed to the continuing success and future growth of ATF. A Search Committee of theatre professionals has been assembled under the leadership of ATF founding and current Board Member Kate Broderick. The Board has launched ATF 2010 a three-year campaign to raise funds to hire a professional producing artistic director. This fund drive is above and beyond the annual operating budget. Supporters wishing to contribute to this campaign, please visit online www.ATFestival.org or mail to PO Box 3203, Glens Falls, NY 12801.
