Church gives back to Rutland area

St. Thomas and Grace Episcopal Church announced at its annual meeting in January that the parish sent nearly $4,000 in 2006 to social service organizations in Brandon and the surrounding area. Organizations receiving contributions included the Brandon and Pittsford Food Shelves, Brandon Area Senior Citizens and Meals on Wheels, Addison County Hospice, Neshobe School lunch/breakfast program, the Harvest Program, Open Door Mission, Rutland Area VNA and Hospice, and Rutland Dismas House. The parish also supported Hurricane Katrina relief in Louisiana and Mississippi, missions in Portugal and the Dominican Republic, and missionary work and disaster relief around the world through the Episcopal Relief and Development program.
