Fat Boy returns home!

PERU This is one of those stories that it is pleasure to publish. The Jan. 13, 2007 edition of this newspaper featured a photo of Fat Boy, a 14-year-old chow, who was being cared for at the Elmore SPCA and looking for a home. Fat Boy had been at SPCA since last November. At the time the dogs master was struggling with poor health and his wifes recent death. He didnt feel able to care for the dog. When he saw Fats Boys picture in Clinton Today he called Kelly Allen at the SPCA saying he was surprised that the dog was still there. He said he was feeling better and asked if it would be possible to get Fat Boy back. Allen was only too happy to comply. Allen explained that the Elmore SPCA evaluates animals on a case-by-case basis. She said if the animals health permits, the SPCA attempts to find a home for the animal regardless of age. Our paper is happy to have played a role in this very happy reunion!
