A sudden change in weather has brought joy to the ice fishing community. Temperatures have changed from the balmy 50s earlier in January to sub-freezing numbers by the end of January. Lake George has six to eight inches of ice in many places, but adventurers are warned of open water and thin ice still exists, especially around the islands and areas where ice-eaters prevent the water from freezing. Fun Spot skating The Bolton Recreation Commission will hold a Fun Spot skating trip on Friday, Feb. 16. Bus leaves at 3:30. Those staying at the school before going skating will be chaperoned. Sign up at the rec. center. Top fundraisers rewarded The six top sellers in the Parent Teacher Organizations fall fundraiser were rewarded on Feb. 5 with a limo ride and a meal at McDonalds in Lake George. The top individual fundraisers were Hunter Brown, Max Cerosky, Mackenzie Hess, Ethan LaGoy, Blake Nelson, and Kimberly Wright. The fifth grade was the class with the highest sales and those students rewards were to adopt a killer whale and each student received a stuffed whale.
