The United Way Campaign made its goal, which is a wonderful retirement gift for Mike Mannix. Lake Champlain was named one of the top five small mouth bass fisheries in the US by the January/February issue of FLW Outdoors Magazine. There are seven tournaments coming up in our area this summer.

Paul Barton, Westelcoms vice president of operations has been promoted to president of the firm, according to Jim Forcier, CEO of the company.

The Chamber Ski Day at Whiteface Mountain is coming up on March 1. This event is sponsored by the Chamber and Westelcom, Whiteface Mountain and Center Plate and they invite everyone to a day of skiing and networking followed by a social event at the Lodge. Tickets for a full day are $32 and those who take lessons also will pay $67. Call the Chamber at 563-1000 for information and to register.

The Chambers Annual St. Patricks Day breakfast is coming up on March 16. There will be more information to follow, but if you have never attended this event, it is one of the best events on the Chamber calendar, in my humble opinion. Kevin Killeen is MC and music is provided by Courtland Wood, Angie LaMariana and Jim Conley. You can hardly go wrong! Call the Chamber for more information.

Clinton Community College scored very well in a community college survey provided to 27 SUNY Community College campuses. Over 428 students responded from CCC and they rated the College #1 in class size, campus acceptance of differences, racial harmony and the diversity of the student body. Valentines Day is coming up this week, folks! Have you bought your candy or your flowers yet? To be honest, if I received either of the above, I would feel the need to trail my roommate and try and find out what he has been up to! We do have a dance here in our community which is always fun. I believe it is frigid in my North Country, so all of you up there, please stay safe and toasty warm! Until next week, please take care and remember that each day is Gods gift to you.
