Box 405, Newcomb, NY 12852, Attn: Jennifer Fifield Newcomb Central School International Plans for 2007-2008. The school is still talking to everyone and anyone about changing the federal law that prohibits international students from attending NCS for more than one year. We have met with our senators, but it is not a good time. The problem is this is an immigration issue and no one in Washington, D.C. wants to take on immigration right now. The good news is the Board of Education has approved up to 10 students with the hope that two or three of these students will be domestic, and the others international students. The question really is how many can we house? We hope to support those people who housed students last year with F-1 students, who can pay housing. We will also need to house J-1 foreign exchange students as well. As a host parent for two students, I can tell you it has been a very rewarding experience. For those of you who do not have children and are concerned about having to entertain them, you dont need to. These students find so much to do without our having to do so. If you can find it in your heart and home to help, please give Skip Hults a call at school, 582-3341 or home at 251-4324. Thank you! Newcomb Friends Near and Far By Marvin Bissell
Does anyone know who that man is, that was in town a few weekends ago and claimed to be a cousin of Marvin Bissell? He didn't stop here and I don't know of any relatives in West Virginia where he said he was from. Thank you

Kevin Bolan and his daughter Emily are heading to the Dominican Republic again this year. They need your help in supplying the mission. Outreach in the Dominican Republic: The Dominican Republic Ecumenical Mission is planning their Tenth Medical Spiritual Mission to San Pedro de Marcois in the Dominican Republic. This Mission is based out of St. Eustace Church in Lake Placid and is one of several in the Diocese Of Albany. The medical team will plan to see about 1000 patients during our short stay in the Dominican Republic. Seeing this many patients means we will need an enormous amount of supplies and medications. The 2008 trip dates have been set. They are February 29th-March 9th. We are now asking for your help in securing the following donations. See/ask Kevin for list Thoughts, Prayers, Casseroles and Cards
