First wreaths, next sweat sock snowmen

WARRENSBURG Thirteen youth ranging in age from 5-14 participated in the annual 4-H Wreath Making workshop at the Cornell University Cooperative Extension Education Center in Warrensburg. The 4-H program was given a large donation of artificial wreaths and ornaments earlier in the year which allowed this program to be provided free of charge Youth were encouraged to arrange the wreaths in a wide array of traditional and modern themes. One wreath featured over a dozen different types of small artificial birds. Ten wreaths were decorated and given to local organizations as a community service project. The youth were then asked what additional programs they would be interested in and all agreed the next project they wanted to create is a sweat sock snowman. This program will be offered in January to both 4-H members and area youth who do not participate in 4-H. If you would like to register for this event please call 668-4881 for more information. There will be a small fee of $3 per youth to cover the cost of materials.
