Ti gets state honor

Ticonderoga High School qualified both the boys and girls cross country teams for the New York State Public High School Scholar-Athlete Award for the 2007 season. Seven members of the boys team combined for a scholastic average of 94.975 during the first marking period. The boys are Jay Berube, Lee Berube, Jared Best, Brendan Carberry, Ben Chapman, David Mallon and Matt Nolan. Seven other members of the boys team also had averages above 90 and will receive NYSPHSAA awards. They are Michael Barber, David Cook, Kevin Densmore, Alex Durkota, Michael Lonergan, Jarrod Sammis and Alexander Walters. The Ticonderoga High School girls cross country team qualified for the New York State Public High School Scholar-Athlete Award for the 2007 season with a combined scholastic average of 94.118 during the first marking period. Members of the team are Brittany Holt, Katherine Karkoski, Brittney LaVoie, Amber Perkins, Miranda Ross, Rachel Ward and Colleen Walls.
