Russell Insley Bowman

PUTNAM STATION Russell Insley Bowman, 67, of Putnam Station, has sadly passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at the Glens Falls Hospital, after a long battle with cancer. Born in Suffern, New York, May 12, 1940, he was the son of the late William Russell and Vivian L. (Insley) Bowman. His father died in March of 1968 and his mother died on January 10, 2002. Mr. Bowman was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Viet Nam War. Russ moved to Putnam about 37 years ago, where he has been a resident, since. He was self-employed as a carpenter and electrician. He was a member of the Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks # 1494, and the American Legion Post # 224, both of Ticonderoga. Survivors left here to mourn his death are his ex-wife, Riika and their two daughters, Cindy Saunders and her partner Joe Mabb of Argyle, and Kimberly Bennett and her husband, Tim of Glens Falls; a son-in-law, Joe Saunders; and 11 grandchildren, seven from Cindy: Amber and her husband Kevin Pelerin of Ticonderoga, Joseph Saunders, Jr., MaKayla Saunders, Ceara Bowman, Cheyenne Cole, and Vivian Bowman, all of Argyle, and Christa Bowman, who is now serving in the U.S. Army in Afghanistan; and four from Kim - Curtis, Patrick "Moose", Peter and Jennifer Granger, all of Glens Falls; and 2 great-grandchildren - children of Amber - Maverick Russell Insley Bowman and Kevin Michael Elmer Pelerin. Jennifer is soon to have Russ's third grandchild. Russ will truly be missed. Relatives and friends called Monday, December 10, 2007 from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga. A Funeral Service followed at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
