Remember United Way this holiday season

To the editor: As the holiday season (Hanukkah, Christmas, New Year's) begins, it is a great time to remind everyone that the 2008 United Way campaign is still underway. Many people and businesses have already made donations or pledges, and to them we again say thank you for generously supporting this community-wide effort. We hope you will join these donors and make a contribution to support the many local United Way Community Partners that serve over 100,000 residents of Clinton and Essex counties. The United Way campaign helps support 34 local agencies or community partners involved in services to the elderly, youth development, food and shelter needs, health care, education and family services. Almost everyone of us knows of a friend, relative, neighbor or co-worker who has been helped in some way by one of these agencies, and our gifts to United Way will make continued services possible. Your pledge or donation can be sent to United Way, 45 Tom Miller Road, Plattsburgh N.Y. 12901 or call 563-0028 for more information. With your support, United Way of Clinton and Essex Counties will reach or exceed the 2008 campaign goal of $700,000 and continue to benefit our community. Tom Koester,
Campaign volunteer
