TICONDEROGA PRIDE of Ticonderoga, Inc. has recently welcomed a new administrative professional to the staff. Cynthia Fairbanks has joined the PRIDE staff as administrative assistant. She brings over 20 years of experience in communications and business experience, working in book publishing and as a college bookstore manager at New York University. In 2001 Fairbanks moved permanently to Wadhams and found work at Shelburne Farms in Vermont, first at the inn and later in the accounting department. Shelburne Farms is very beautiful and does lots of good work, so it was hard to leave, she said. But I was longing to be involved in my own community. I never take for granted that I live in such a beautiful place. And PRIDE is the dream job Ive been waiting for ever since I moved here. Fairbanks will manage general office operations, helping Sharon Reynolds, executive director, and Mike Fitzgerald, rehabilitation specialist, with HOME and New York Main Street grants, as well as assisting Kristi Mars, director of CYC with special projects within the community. PRIDE works in partnership with local, county, regional, state and federal governmental agencies, community-based organizations, business and industrial groups, and individuals and families to identify specific needs, evaluate funding options, develop strategies, prepare grant applications, assist with fundraising, and implement programs and projects to effect community revitalization.
