NEWCOMB The Newcomb Town Board held its Bi-Monthly meeting on Nov. 27 and the meeting was called to order at 7 p.m. by George Canon, Town Supervisor. First on the agenda, a motion was approved for Supervisor Canon to sign the contract with Convenient Medical Care for 2008 for drug and alcohol testing. Then, a motion was approved for Canon to attend the Adirondack Assoc. of Towns & Villages meeting to be held in Lake George on Dec. 9-10. The following proposals were submitted by Canon for the Town Board to review and discuss at the next meeting: a sample credit card policy to be used by town officials and employees; a proposal for the development of an Employee Handbook for the Town of Newcomb; and an audit proposal from Richard Dinolfo, Certified Public Accountant. Then it was announced that the following meetings will take place at the Town Hall: with DEC and AES regarding the Sewer plant grant status; with the Nature Conservancy and DEC regarding the land status; and with Burnham Financial for retirees regarding some Health Insurance changes with those who have Medicare as the primary insurance. Next, the Town received employment request from Jennifer Fifield and Beth Canon and Jim DePasquale updated the Board on the Goodnow Flow Dam status. Canon announced the Town Ski Tow inspection by the NYS Dept. of Labor passed. The meeting was adjourned at 8 p.m.
