Holiday lights dedicated to vets

TICONDEROGA Christmas lights atop Mount Defiance in Ticonderoga are dedicated to American veterans. The lights, in the shape of a tree on a 75-foot tall frame, can be seen for miles. It was erected Dec. 11. Its dedicated to all our veterans, those have have served in the past and are serving today, said A.T. Morette, who helped erect the decoration. And it honors our country, too. Those that erected the tree also hope the Christmas display will make people think of the sacrifices of American veterans. An American flag flies atop the tree. The tree was first placed on Mount Defiance in 2001 following the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and Americas subsequent military action in Afghanistan and Iraq. Helping erect the display were Morette, Dave Iuliano, Jim OBryan, Ti Supervisor Bob Dedrick and Ray Mury.
