Christmas spirit helps Toys for Kids

To the Editor: Several area families had a lot more under the tree this year due to the Essex County Toys for Kids program and some special area residents. David Beale of Minerva along with Carl Russell of North Hudson teamed up once again to spearhead a monetary drive to support Essex County Toys for Kids. Sportys Iron Duke Saloon, owned by the Beales, was the focal point where several bike runs, raffles and donations readied monies to fund the program. It is heartwarming to see such an outpouring of support to make over 100 childrens Christmas a little nicer in several area schools. Lisa Cypher, manager of the Dollar General store of Schroon Lake, also donated large Christmas bags and toys to put in the Christmas stockings for the Schroon Lake\North Hudson children. Thank you to those mentioned and anyone else who participated in the fund raising activities. Another thank you goes out to all of those who took part in the motorcycle runs, bought raffle tickets and donated toys through Sportys Iron Duke Saloon. Your generosity in supporting the program was fantastic. Pauline Rose, Kim Bauer, Karla Tyrrell
