Shelburne Farms cookbook featured in New York Times

SHELBURNE Shelburne Farms received a bit of national recognition recently as Cooking with Shelburne Farms: Food and Stories from Vermont, was featured on the New York Times list of notable cookbooks for 2007. The list is posted on-line along with 24 other cookbooks described as noteworthy. The book also appeared in their cooking feature inside the Holiday Books issue released on Sunday, December 2. Cooking with Shelburne Farms finds itself in great company on this list of 25; the book is mentioned in the same breath as cooking legends Deborah Madison, Bobby Flay, Jamie Oliver, Anne Willan, Molly Katzen, Jonathan Waxman and even Martha Stewart. The book, by Melissa Pasanen with Chef Rick Gencarelli, has been a hot item at bookstores throughout the region since its September 29 release. The book pairs stories from Vermont farmers and hunters with recipes featuring some of Vermonts most famous staples: milk, maple, mushrooms, apples and more.
