I guess Im getting older. I never used to have blood pressure issues, but watching the last two Giants games I kept feeling an uncomfortable sensation Im no doctor, but Ive deduced it was a spike in my blood pressure.
Fortunately, Big Blue came out on top in the end, and young Eli Manning showed some signs that the debacle of the previous seven quarters were behind him.
It doesnt get any easier for the Giants this week as they travel to Philadelphia. Theyve already beaten the Eagles this season, and I have every confidence theyll do it again. Still, Philly has looked alternately awesome and horrible the entire season, so this is no lock.
We had four pickers post 12-4 records this week; Jay Grant, Ed Donnery, Richard TenEyck, and Chris Fink, who tightened up the Battle of Minerva with his strong showing. It was a mediocre showing by leader John Gereau, but he remains two games ahead of John Santasier. Oh, by the way, Im still stinking up the joint, as our Customer Service rep Melissa likes to point out every week.
With the Patriots showing some vulnerability the last two weeks, and a surging Steelers team coming to town, this will be the first week all season I go against the Patsies. No way are they going undefeated, and Pittsburgh should give them a good run. Of course, last week I said no way the Dolphins go winless, but Ive since had a change of heart man, are they horrible.
Arizona at Seattle could prove to be a real good game with possible playoff implications, and I see the Seahawks winning this one.
Just a reminder to get picks in before the Thursday games kick off. Many of you have been sending only your Thursday picks prior to the game, and the rest before kick off Sunday, which is fine; however, make my life a little easier by including the Thursday game again when you send in full list of picks.
