Tiny Tim program needs help

TICONDEROGA The Tiny Tim Christmas Wish program needs help. The charitable group that provides holiday gifts for needy children is lacking toys and items. The community has been more than generous in previous years, said Helen Gibbs of the Tiny Tim program. Now, we need their help again. Gibbs said this season the program will provide gifts for 126 children in the Ticonderoga Central School District Ticonderoga, Hague and Putnam. Weve had people call from Crown Point and Port Henry wanting help, Gibbs said. I wish we could help them, but we dont have the volunteers or the finances to do it. Items needed this year are Barbie dolls, Bratz dolls, generic baby dolls, hand-held electronic games, board games, crafts for all ages, art supplies, remote-control vehicles, portable CD players, toiletries such as body gel, bubble bath and cologne, hats, mittens, scarfs, large stuffed animals and cash donations. Checks can be made payable to the Tiny Tim Program. The deadline to make a donation is Dec. 12. Donations can be left at the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce office on Montcalm Street or people can call Gibbs at 585-7429 to arrange pick up.
