Crown Point to rely on seniors

CROWN POINT Crown Point is counting a group of seniors to lead it this girls basketball season. The Panthers have eight seniors including three starters returning this winter as they try to improve on 2006-07s 3-11 overall, 1-11 Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference record. After a poor showing last year, the Panthers hope to redeem themselves this season, Coach Mary Hope McGinness said. We look to experience to carry us through. Jordan McGinness returns to lead the front court. She averaged eight points and 12 rebounds a game last season. Shes joined at forward by Ashley Zapolski, Ala Terenteyva and Hope Lacey. Karissa Robinson, Jonalee Ross, Carrie Lillibridge and Britney Peters return at guard. Joining them are rookies Paige Dolback, Emma Ofner and Jessica Potter. We should be strong on the boards with Ashley and Jordan and look to improve our guard play, Coach McGinness said. The key to our success will be the ability of our guards and forwards to work unselfishly with each other and to display a strong balance on the floor. We look forward to an exciting season, she added.
