Addison County Transit Resources (ACTR) will be extending its Middlebury Shuttle Bus (MSB) service on Saturday, Dec. 1, to help people get to the many different holiday activities taking place in Middlebury. We looked at the convergence of holiday events and thought this would be a nice way for folks to use the ACTR system to get around without fighting traffic or wasting time searching for parking spaces, said Jim Moulton, executive director of ACTR. For those who are dependent on ACTR to get around, they will have more time that day to shop, get to the different activities and visit local restaurants. Rather than ending service at 5 pm, which is the regular Saturday schedule, the MSB will continue its regular route until 9:30 p.m. The route from 5 to 9:30 will follow the same loop as it does from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. From the top of each hour until quarter past the hour, it services Exchange Street, from quarter past the hour to half past it services Route 7 South, from half past to quarter to the hour it circulates around Peterson Terrace and from quarter to the hour to the top of the hour it loops through Middlebury College and Porter Hospital. Any late riders at 9:30 p.m. needing a final drop off can ask the driver to deviate to their stop.
