Don't take Labor Day for granted

Remember what you said on Memorial Day as Vermonts summer officially began?

Turn around, and it will be Labor Day.

And you thought summer would last forever.

Well, here it is, Labor Day is on Monday, September 3.

Whos laboring on Labor Day?

Maybe not you. But plenty of workers will be.. First, you have to eat. Thus, restaurant cooks and waiters. And open supermarkets.

Driving your car means g as station attendants. Suppose theres an accident (not you!). Police, firemen, and ambulances are on call.

Of course, any injured would go to the hospital ambulances, doctors, nurses, all working on Labor Day.

Youll want a newspaper to read about it. More workers.

Youll listen to the radio and television Labor Day workers. And youll make some phone calls. Electricians will be on duty if theres a foul-up. And tourists mean hotel help.

Wholl be swinging in the hammock Monday? Hopefully you.
