WILMINGTON Wilmington youth will shred it up at Skate Jam 2007 this weekend at the Wilmington Youth Center to help raise funds for new skatepark equipment.

On Aug. 26, the Wilmington Youth Commission will host a live performance as a fundraiser for new skatepark equipment. The event will run from 4-7 p.m., with a suggested donation of $5.

The Superunstoppables will perform live music, and there will be skateboard demonstrations, beverages, snacks, and some games.

The local kids seem to be really excited about the event and have been very helpful so far in its planning stages, said event coordinator Colin Loher. This event is mostly for them but of course we hope that everyone can make it out and just have a good time listening to live music, skating and dancing.
