Sept. 8: A good time to support our local troops

We hear a lot of folks say they support Americas troops, but how do they really show their support? Well, heres a chance to back up your support with some action.

On Sept. 8 the National Guard Association of Vermont will be hosting a 10-kilometer run/walk (and a youth one-mile fun run) to benefit the VtNG Fallen Soldier Memorial to be built at Camp Johnson, Vt. Both events are open to past and present members of the Vermont Air and Army Guard and their family and friends.

The run will be followed by the adjutant generals barbeque and Vermont Soldier Appreciation Day from 11 a.m. 4 p.m. The event will be filled with entertainment, food, games, pony rides, fun and raffle prizes. Its a perfect time to demonstrate your support of Vermonters who are sacrificing a lot on behalf of our nations calling.

To make donations to the memorial or the days events, please contact Century 21 Jack Associates at 800-639-8052 or 877-2134 or stop in any of the ten offices in Vermont.

If Addison County-based Century 21 Jack Associates-the Lynn Jackson Group, or one of its other offices, approaches you or your business for donations, we hope you will donate generously.

If you have questions about this event, please contact: vtremembersrun@vt.ngb.army.mil or call the Vermont Remembers Run Committee at 802-338-3023.
