Marbleworks Residences opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Aug. 15. This elegantly designed, four-story building reflects Federal and Georgian architectural traditions with white clapboard and stone. A custom mahogany entrance welcomes residents to the security of their own townhouse.
The detailed hallways lead to spacious one-, two- and three-bedroom residences. There are 12 different floor plans, ranging in size from 950 to 2,550 square feet. All have high ceilings. Oversized windows, private balconies and stone patios take advantage of stunning views of the Middlebury, Otter Creek Falls, Middlebury College, and the Adirondack and Green Mountains.
All of the homes are designed with large master bedroom suites and walk-in closets. The entries, kitchens, and master bathrooms have natural ceramic tile. Interiors may be punctuated with wood floors and other customized options, including gas fireplaces. Penthouses open onto private rooftop terraces.
Refrigerators, gas ranges, microwaves, and dishwashers are the standard appliances. Stacked washer/dryers by Whirlpool are provided. Cabinets have natural wood or painted finishes. The kitchen countertops are polished granite. Gas-fired boilers provide heat and hot water, and each residence is served by energy efficient heat pumps and continuous air circulator systems. To ensure privacy, the walls and floors are all thoroughly sound-insulated.
Other amenities include reserved underground parking, keypad entry, and heated storage spaces. A state-of-the-art telecommunications system provides fiberoptic cable, satellite T.V., and two telephone lines in each residence.
The $8 million project began in September 2006 and will be completed in Septemberon-time and on-budget.
