On July 19 on Capitol Hill, U.S. Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) met with Vermont students Emily Louras of Center Rutland, and Emily Parker of Montpelier, who were in Washington to participate in the National Youth Leadership Conference (NYLC).The students spoke with Vermont's senior senator about their visit to Washington, and asked questions about the Senator's role in Congress. The students participating in the NYLC program visit Washington to learn about government, policy and leadership.
Leahy hosts dozens of Vermont students from across the state each year.
