Twenty-one community members completed an 8-week training class to become hospice volunteers with the Rutland Area Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice. In the home and in nursing facilities, hospice volunteers provide emotional support and respite to terminally ill patients and their families.
Volunteers also assist the hospice program with office support, special events and community awareness.
