HAGUE The town of Hague will be celebrating its bicentennial Aug. 17-19.
A great deal of excitement and interest is brewing Holly de Buys, head of the bicentennial committee, said.
Registration for the reunion will take place from 1-9 p.m. on Thursday and 8 a.m. to noon, 3 - 5:30 p.m. on Friday at the Community Center.
Fridays events include the reunion breakfast, held from 8:30-10 a.m. in the town park. The Antique Car Display will follow from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Hague Central School reunion luncheon will take place in the park from noon to 3 p.m.
Children can enjoy rides and historical games in the park between noon and 6 p.m. Finally, the Hague Jazz Quartet and the Community Band will perform from 5-7 p.m. to finish the first evening of the bicentennial celebration.
Tickets for the Steamer Mohican can be purchased for the cruise from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Saturdays events include a second reunion breakfast, held from 8:30-10 a.m. in the town park. An antique boat exhibit will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Hague bicentennial parade will be at 2 p.m.
The chicken barbecue in the town park will take place from 5-8 p.m. and cost $10 for salad, homemade bread, potato salad, corn on the cob, a drink, barbecued chicken and homemade strawberry shortcake.
Rick Bolton will perform in the park from 6 p.m. on Saturday, followed by the bicentennial fireworks display.
The Hague Historical Museum will be open on Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with its Heres Hague exhibit.
On Sunday the Celebratory and Remembrance Service will be held in the town park from 8:45 to 9:30 a.m. Brunch will follow from 9:30-11 a.m. and will cost $7 for sausage, egg and cheese strata, French toast casserole, homemade sour cream coffee cake, assorted muffins, fresh fruit and refreshments.
