"Its such a great family event. I think that is why everyone comes," Gayle commented.
The Rodenbush family, from Dannemora, participated, with Pam (aka Mom) and her three children, Leanne (16), Bethany (14), and Jonathan (12), all running.
"I'm trying to set an example for my kids," Pam said.
Her son Jonathan enjoyed the events. "Theyre really fun," he said. "I am in competition with myself to beat my best time each week," he said.
Anoher budding long disance runner, 4-year-old Evan Ohlsten took part just for the pure pleasure of running. One night he took on the 1/4 mile, ? mile, mile, and tried to dash into the in the 5K. But thats where his Mom drew the fnish line.
The last run was held on August 8th. People who ran in at least 3 of the 5 events were awarded "CVPH Heart Smart Run" T-shirts. That amounted to nearly a hundred. And for a last minute effort on the part of a passionate organizer, thats not so bad.
