WCS announces special achievement awards

WARRENSBURG The Warrensburg Central School Board of Education Student Special Achievement Award Winners for April are Julianna Drum and Jacob Johnson. Julianna Drum, daughter of Julie Drum of Warrensburg, is an eighth grader and was nominated by Mrs. Theresa Rescorl, science teacher, who said, Julianna is an excellent student in science and is always enthusiastic about learning new things. But I nominated her because she volunteers to help classmates with their science work and studies with them for tests during activity period. Jules is an asset to the Warrensburg Schools! Jacob Johnson, a first grader, is the son of Linda and Charles Johnson of Warrensburg. In her nomination, Mrs. Raymond wrote, Jacob is a great student in our classroom. He works hard to do his best and lends a hand to those that need it. Jacob has a great sense of humor, especially when our class is working with the laptops or SmartBoard. Something usually goes wrong and Jacob always offers to help, even if it is only an encouraging word to his teacher. Jacob is also involved in sports and shows great character and sportsmanship. The students were honored at the recent meeting of the board of education. Each student was presented with a beautiful medallion on a blue and gold ribbon and gift certificates to local businesses.
