TICONDEROGA The Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce is taking a chance with its fifth annual benefit dinner. This years fundraising event will be an Escape to Pair-a-Dice a dinner with casino games, auctions and raffles. It will be held Friday, June 8, at Emeralds Restaurant at the Ticonderoga Country Club. For the fifth year in a row, we invite area businesses and organizations to join us at the chambers annual fundraiser, said Deb Malaney, the chamber executive director. Since 2003, we have hosted four very successful June events, each one adding a new level of excitement and anticipation as our themes changed from year to year. Once again, for 2007, we are pleased to announce our exciting new theme event: Escape to Pair-a-Dice featuring Casino Night games, a delicious buffet, auctions, raffles, and more. The chamber will partner with the Ticonderoga Elks Club to present this years event. The Elks are licensed to operate games of chance. Not only will the Ti Elks be providing the casino equipment and supplies, but also they will serve as our friendly dealers, dressed in tropical shirts, always ready to assist those players in need of a little instruction, Malaney said. Our goal for the evening is to encourage fun and interaction of our members and guests in a relaxing tropical theme atmosphere at the Ti Country Club, while raising some funds at the same time. The annual benefits have been a success for the Ti Area Chamber of Commerce, raising more than $26,000 the past four years to support the chambers mission to promote local business and tourism. For 2007, we have set an ambitious goal of raising $ 7,000, and with your help, we know we can do it, Malaney said. The chamber is now seeking donations for its auction and financial support. It is offering several sponsorship opportunities Black Jack at the $500 and up level, Poker at the $250 level, Roulette at the $150 level, and Slots at the $100 level. Everyone who sponsors or donates an auction item will receive recognition and all donations are tax deductible, Malaney said. We look forward to hearing from you very soon. For information or to make a donation, contact Malaney or event co-chairwomen Susan Rathbun and Scarlette Merfeld at the chamber office at 585-6619.
